Keep your deck or patio cooler and protect your family from the suns damaging rays!

Excessive sunlight can greatly detract from the value of a patio. Add to the aesthetics, elegance and beauty of your home, creating a stylish appearance while providing practical functionality.  Valor patio awnings are created with durable, powder coated aluminum extrusions. Wall mounting hardware is electrostatic coated cast steel for greater strength and longevity. Modular construction allows roller and valance tubes to ship in two or three sections for easy transportation. The manual crank mechanism is easily operated, and the awning pitch is adjustable. All necessary mounting hardware (for masonry installation), assembly and installation guide is included.

IMPORTANT WARNING
Your new awning is intended as protection against the sun only. It is not to be used during periods of strong wind, rain, hail, or snow. The warranty will not cover use during these periods. Bird droppings, pine needles, and various air born materials that may settle on your awning; awning fabric should be cleaned using water and a light soap. No abrasive cleansers or harsh chemicals should be used on the fabric. Damage to the awning (including the fabric) from any foreign material is not covered under our warranty.

Technical Troubleshooting

Q: I’ve installed my Awning but it won’t open?

A: First of check to ensure that the fabric ties that were installed at the factory are cut, but ensure the fabric is rolled in taught before doing so.

A: The Wrist Pin Pivot nut may have been over tightened when packaged, see image below, A simple loosening of one nut on either the left, right or both Extension arms, just a small 1/4 turn should suffice.

A: Check for any additional ties that may keep the extension arms from opening, and if unsure PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE FOR further trouble shooting 1-888-875-4844 (8am-4pm EST Mon-Fri).

Q: The Arms don’t appear to be connected properly?
A: The Front bar needs to be levelled and set to your desired pitch before operating the Awning. The arms may not be set equally, meaning the angle they open at may different from one another. This is a simple pitch adjustment, see diagram below.

Pitch Adjustment Diagram:

To Adjust Pitch or Level Front bar. Open the awning about half way. While gently supporting the weight of the arm, loosen both nut “A”, loosen or tighten bolt “B” until the desired pitch is reached. DO NOT USE bolt “B” to lower or raise Front Bar, use this to hold the desired position once reached. Tighten nuts “A”. For significant adjustment, it may be necessary to adjust each arm in small increments to avoid twisting the awning arms too much.

Q: The front bar is not level and the awning is not opening level?
A: The Front bar needs to be levelled and set to your desired pitch before operating the Awning. The arms may not be set equally, meaning the angle they open at may different from one another. This is a simple pitch adjustment, see Pitch adjustment Diagram above.

Q: My Awning does not roll out or in straight?
A: Each of the Extension Arms must open evenly to ensure the Awning will roll in and out straight and evenly. It is normal to out a little, but if the awning fabric is rolling off the end of the roller tube an adjustment may be required. This may also be required if you choose to remove your awning for storage in the winter. It is an easy adjustment and we can provide instructions over the telephone.

Q: My Awning makes noise when I Operate the Crank?
A: Generally the thought is that the Mechanism is faulty when in fact the Gear Mechanism is fine. This noise is generally due to a slight alignment issue of the extension arms. This can easily be solved and the awning will run smoothly. We recommend you call our office for instructions on this.
